Who is FCR? What do we do?

Have you ever had to call or email the Customer Service or Technical Support department of a well-known company? Chances are you have spoken to or interacted with someone from FCR. That's what we do. FCR provides high-quality customer service and technical support for some of the best companies in the world and their customers.

Working from home with four kids has been a definite adventure, to say the least. However, I’ve found that being less than 6 feet from the coffee maker lightens the load. A bit of history about us.

We've come a long way from our early beginnings. From one small office without air conditioning, mismatched furniture, and creaky floors to modern contact centers with the latest in technology and security located throughout the Pacific Northwest and the Great Plains. From 10 employees to more than 2,000 colleagues. FCR keeps writing new and exciting chapters to its history with every passing day, week, month, and year. Here's a look at where we've been and where we are going.

2005
Origins

The company first started performing support for Compspan Call Center Services, a division of the communications company Comspan. We next acquired an answering service from the company ABCT in Roseburg, Oregon, and then another company from Portland, Oregon, called Acacia. First Call Resolution was established as its own company by Comspan co-founder John Stadter and his business partner Matthew Achak on February 14, 2005.

2005
1st contact center - Roseburg, OR

We opened our first call center in November of 2005 in Roseburg, OR. It wasn't much to write home about, and not what you would consider a traditional call center. The building had uneven floors. The furniture was mismatched because it's what we could afford at the time. There was no air conditioning to speak of in the summertime. We started with just ten people, but we were determined to grow.

2007
100 colleagues strong

In just two years we grew our company size from 10 people to 100 people. We were well on our way to success!

2009
2nd center – Grants Pass, OR

In September of 2009, we expanded to our 2nd call center after receiving our largest contract at the time. Our first center in Roseburg was filling up, so it was time to grow. Our Grants Pass center opened at off of SW 5th Street and would later expand to include an adjacent building off of I Street.

2012
3rd center – Coos Bay, OR

In June of 2012, we would expand once again, this time to the Oregon Coast in the small town of Coos Bay. The Coos Bay center is still going strong today and located in the downtown area on Anderson Ave.

500 colleagues and growing

In just five years, FCR grows from 100 people to 500! We continue to pick up big-name clients in industries that include high tech, insurance, and e-commerce. The growth is phenomenal, and it's about to become even more significant.

Top Work Place Award Winner

2012 would also bring First Call Resolution its first award as a Top Work Place in Oregon from the Oregonian newspaper. Companies are selected for this award by their employees.

Portland Business Journal Top 100 Fastest Growing Businesses in Oregon

FCR is selected as one of the Top 100 fastest-growing companies in Oregon, ranking 68th fastest overall.

In 2013  First Call Resolution was once again selected as a Top Work Place in Oregon from the Oregonian newspaper.

2014
4th center - Veneta, OR

In January of 2014, we would add our 4th contact center, this time in Veneta, OR, near Eugene. Our Veneta center would go on to provide services for some of our biggest clients.

Opening of new Eugene Headquarters (Basecamp II)

In June of 2014, FCR relocated its corporate offices to a new building we call Basecamp II in Eugene, OR.

Portland Business Journal Top 100 Fastest Growing Businesses in Oregon

FCR is selected as one of the Top 100 fastest-growing companies in Oregon for 2014, ranking 50th fastest overall.

FCR makes the Inc. 5000 list

FCR's unprecedented growth gets noticed as the company makes the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the US, ranking 2,906 out of 5,000 companies.

Top Work Place Award Winner

In 2014 First Call Resolution was selected as a Top Work Place in Oregon for the third consecutive year.

Huge growth to 1,000 colleagues

In just two years, FCR doubles in size from 500 colleagues to 1,000! The growth rate of the company is now 30% year-over-year and continues at an unstoppable pace.

2015
5th center – Independence, OR

In June of 2015, we added our 5th center in Independence, OR, near Salem. Our Independence center is still going strong to this day.

FCR is again selected as one of the Top 100 fastest-growing companies in Oregon for 2015, ranking 48th fastest overall.

FCR makes the Inc. 5000 list for the 2nd year in a row

FCR once again made the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies for the second year in a row. It moved up to rank 2,141 out of the top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in 2015.

FCR awarded 2015 Prosperity Award from Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development, Inc.

FCR was awarded the Prosperity Award from SOREDI in 2015. The award is given to companies that demonstrate remarkable or sustained financial growth, as shown by the expansion of products, services, footprint, or employment.

Top Work Place Award Winner

In 2015, FCR was selected as a Top Work Place in Oregon for the fourth consecutive year.

2016
FCR makes the Inc. 5000 list for the 3rd year in a row

FCR made the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies for the third year in a row. It moved up to rank 2,059 out of the top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in 2016.

2017
FCR expands to Mexico

In December of 2017 FCR expanded internationally with a new nearshore contact center in Tijuana, Mexico. The site, located just minutes away from San Diego, California, is centered within the heart of Tijuana’s International Business Park and provides Spanish language services to FCR's clients.

2017
6th center - Great Falls, MT

In June of 2017, FCR adds its 6th center in Great Falls, MT. It would be the first contact center we would open outside of the state of Oregon, but not the last. More expansion would come in the future as we continued to grow.

2018
FCR expands into Europe

In March of 2018 FCR further expands its operations internationally into Europe, opening a partner center in Lublin, Poland. The site expands FCR's foreign language offerings to include French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Russian, and the Scandinavian languages.

2018
FCR colleagues grow to 1,500 strong

Four years after reaching the milestone of 1,000 colleagues, FCR grows to a total of 1,500 colleagues in August of 2018. We are adding a lot of clients in the e-commerce, retail, and healthcare as we continue to grow.

2019
7th center - Butte, MT

In October of 2019, FCR opened its 7th contact center in Butte, MT. Our second site in Montana, the Butte location, was also our first ever constructed inside of a large shopping mall. Our amazing facilities and operations teams transformed a space that was once occupied by a JCPenny's store into a modern contact center.

2019
A new era begins...

FCR acquires a majority investment from TTEC, a leading digital global customer experience, technology, and services company focused on the design, implementation, and delivery of transformative customer experience, engagement, and growth solutions.

2019
Onward...

In just a little over one year, FCR adds 500 colleagues to increase to a total of 2,000 colleagues across Oregon, Washington, and Montana. During some of the most difficult financial times in our country's history, FCR continues to add new jobs every day.

Our Communities
Unlike many outsourcers who ship jobs overseas or who build massive call centers in large cities, FCR has created a paradigm shift in the outsourcing industry. Our strategy is to keep our call centers in smaller “pod-sized” facilities so that we can keep business on a personal level with both our clients and our colleagues.
