The Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist is responsible for keeping track of qualified candidates through the new hire onboarding process and to help colleagues continue their career path and grow with FCR. The person should love interacting with people as the position has a direct impact on the success of FCR by being the first conversation that a potential candidate would have with FCR. Always works and communicates in a manner that represents FCR as an employer of choice, upholding our reputation as a place people want to be, both internally and externally. This role executes on all business imperatives in alignment with FCR’s Mission, Vision, Values.

The Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist reports to the Senior Recruiting Manager.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Serves as the main point of contact for new hires and assists with any questions or needs throughout the onboarding process.
  • Supports the recruiting process from the first contact of candidates through the onboarding of new colleagues.
  • Schedule interviews for candidates with hiring managers and stays informed of the hiring decisions to ensure timely and accurate interview notes into the ATS system.
  • Post requisitions, onboard new hires, process background checks, and keeps track of colleague referrals.
  • Recruits for non-exempt internal and external positions.
  • Assist with recruiting events, such as job fairs or open interviews as needed.
  • Pre-screen candidates for open positions with a focus on the candidate experience, efficient time to fill, program needs, and a smooth interviewing process.
  • Responsible for understanding of the call centers and positions that are to be filled.
  • Provide proactive updates with hiring managers daily, in a clear and consistent manner.
  • Assist in the upkeep of the applicant database to ensure accurate information on new and past candidates.
  • Provides insights and process improvement recommendations into the recruiting process and hiring plans to help increase efficiency.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting when needed.
  • Adhere to company, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong team player with a high sense of urgency and motivation.
  • Ability to present creative solutions and deliver against results.
  • Unwavering integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/ English) strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical Thinking - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and conclusions
  • Understanding of technology and systems, including MS Office. Familiarity with ATS software preferred but not required.
  • Skilled in organizing tasks and establishing priorities.
  • Resilient and able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Additional Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability and enthusiasm for traveling to regional centers (mostly day trips).
  • Experience in communicating with a diverse population of individuals.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Physical Demands: Sitting up to 100% of the time.
  • Travel Demands: Minimal, roughly 5% or less for the year.
  • Working Conditions: Indoor office environment, use of telephone and headset (up to 100% of the time), computer and other office equipment.

Colleagues hired for Work from Home positions are responsible for providing and maintaining a functioning workspace as part of the terms of employment with FCR.

  • Quiet work environment, free of background noise
  • Desk and chair or sit /stand desk meeting the individual’s ergonomic requirements including any special accommodations required.
  • This position requires that you work from the address listed on your employee profile.

Technology

  • A high-speed, Internet connection is required and must be available at all times. 
  • Phone (Smartphone, landline, cell phone) to communicate with your supervisor or IT Help desk when your computer is not available.

FCR Hiring Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent. 
  • Employment contingent upon background check.
